Winners of ‘DCA’ receive Training

Great deeds bring great rewards. Early last spring, Captain Bob Corcoran and crew from the 153’ motoryacht Argyll came to the aid of refuges adrift off the coast of Cuba. As a result of their actions, the International Superyacht Society and Westrec Marinas awarded them the ‘Distinguished Crew Award’.

In addition to a beautiful plaque, many kudos and industry-wide recognition, recipients receive a ‘Crew Spirit’ teambuilding training from Crew Synergy.

The crew’s reward came to fruition recently at Isle de Sol in St. Martin. Between the marina’s conference room and a rooftop deck overlooking Simpson Bay, Joe Noonan, president of Crew Synergy, challenged Argyll’s crew to work together thru a series of exercises designed to raise the bar in their synergy and service.

“This is a dynamic team that has great pride in their work. Bob has his interior and exterior crews working hand in hand, including the guys helping inside at night on charters. I think Bob's approach helps account for this crew's high level of camaraderie. It was an honor to share with them skills and strategies to improve their already stellar service.”

The majority of crew evaluations from their training mentioned improved communication as one of the major benefits. Captain Bob summed it up, saying, “A great couple of days. It was great to see the crew have open discussions and then work together in some problem solving exercises. I am looking forward to seeing more results in an already FANTASTIC crew.”
